modernizing clinical trials. Clinical trials are a crucial step to
deliver new life-changing therapies and medical devices to
patients, but today's trials are encumbered with manual processes,
incompatible systems, and lack of timely communication among

customers. As a Software Development Manager, you'll collaborate
with customers and other AWS leaders to define and build a product
to accelerate clinical trials. You will build and lead a team to
deliver and refine our new product in the complex, ambiguous, and
evolving clinical trials landscape. You'll bring your proven
history delivering cloud-based products and your obsession with
delighting customers. You'll be complimented in your role by a
leadership team with broad experience delivering healthcare and
life sciences products, with experience founding and leading
startup companies, with track records of building new products that
delight customers, and with experience building and leading
high-performing and rapidly growing product teams. This role is

Key job responsibilities
Lead one or more engineering teams and collaborate with other teams
and product leaders to deliver and operate a transformative new
clinical trials product. Hire and develop team members to be
leaders as the product teams grows and expands to deliver rich
product capabilities in a multi-year roadmap of innovation. Create

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of engineering team management
experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams
experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns,
reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier
web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full
software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding
standards, code reviews, source control management, build
processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management
teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in communicating with users,
other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect
requirements, describe software product features, technical
designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing
teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them
more effective, product software engineers
- Experience with the data management, integration, and governance
challenges inherent in developing mission-critical products that

labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this
position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market
up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based
on a number of factors including market location and may vary
depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon

equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be
provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a
