Senior Associate Scientist, Potency and Impurity
Just-Evotec Biologics is seeking a motivated and creative Senior Associate Scientist who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. The Associate Scientist will work with a multidisciplinary team for the analytical and functional biocharacterization of large molecule therapeutics and analysis of process related impurities. Experience with ELISA binding assays, DNA extraction, and PCR is preferred. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and is interested in evaluating new technologies to gain efficiency. The ability to multitask and to work both independently and on high performing teams is essential.
Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform impurity sample testing for host cell protein (HCP), leached protein A and CHO DNA.
  
• Develop and perform immunoassays and other potency method formats.
  
• Responsible for data analysis, review, and uploading results to electronic data repository.
  
• Lead method development, qualification, and transfer to QC department.
  
• Author technical documents including analytical methods, SOPs, qualification reports, and technical reports.
  
• Familiar with use of laboratory equipment including plate reader, plate washer, BSC, centrifuge, balances, pH meter, KingFisher, and qPCR instrument.
  
• Responsible for keeping accurate documentation using electronic laboratory notebook.
  
• Responsible for equipment maintenance and ordering lab supplies.
  
  Education Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • BS in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Bioengineering, or related field with 2-5 years of experience.
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • 
      
    • ELISA, cell-based assays, SPR, BLI.
      
    • DNA manipulation, PCR, q-PCR.
      
    • Mammalian cell culture experience.
      
    • Use of liquid-handling automation applications.
      
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
      
    • Excellent organizational skills.
      
    • Experience with MS Office Applications.
      
      The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $78,000 to $87,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual's skills, experience and competitive market value.
